Rigas family members were convicted of numerous counts of conspiracy and fraud. Putting yourself in their position, how would you explain/justify their unethical behavior? We knew we were good for the money, so we just did a little creative accounting. It’s not like we were stealing from our customers. Adelphia is a big company, so certainly the company was not going to miss $2.3 billion. Our creditors would be fine without our money.
