The actors that did the first film it was unusual that they were so talented even though they didn’t have much experience. EPIC FILM- Most epics are drama. It covers a large expansive time with a huge or vast background, sweeping backdrop, could be a war scene or huge environment. Some are obviously war films so it could be costume dramas, some are imagined, historical, mythic or legendary will have heroic figures. A large extravagant setting often very lavish detailed costume. OFTEN EXPENSIVE with high production values. Have a grand musical score, usually common traits of epics. -Large backdrop is a key element in epic’s so backgrounds are a huge representation. - Most are historically based, but fictional like “the general” historically based on the South in Civil War. So is “Gone with the Wind” civil war based on fictional characters.
