1) a. The situation in the northeast is worse than other of the other regions and the US as a whole. The quarterly change only has increased by 3% as opposed to 6% average increase of the US as a whole. b. A reason for the relatively flat sales in the northeast could be that the distribution level is not as high as the other regions. Another possible cause for the lack of sales is that the promotion support for the region is lower than other regions. A third possible cause could be that the price of the product is higher than that of other regions. c. To Mark: There are a few reasons that are contributing to the lack of sales of Tony’s pizza in the northeast region. One reason is the lack of promotion in area which is only 7% compared to the national average of 8%. If more support is given to the promotion in the region then this may help increased sales. Another reason could be that the price gap between Tony’s pizza and competitors is so high. Not only this, but the price of Tony’s pizza is higher than the price of Tony’s pizza in other
