An article in the Wall Street Journal (January 17, 1992) reported that some scientists have implicated iron as a factor in various diseases, including cancer. Part of the problem, it is believed, is that iron builds up in the body over many years. To examine the issue, a random sample of 20-year-old men and women and 40-year-old men and women was drawn. The amount of iron in their bodies was measured and recorded. a. What are dependent and independent variables in this problem? Dependent variable is some diseases and cancer.
