S YNOPTIC G OSPELS : (=present a relatively unified vision of Jesus's life and work) 1. G OSPEL OF M ARK Mark's account of Jesus's life might be based on recollections of St. Peter who lived and died in Rome . oldest ; composed 30-35 years after death of Jesus (in Antioch Syria or in Rome , not sure); shortest (Gospels of Luke + Matthew are longer) kind of has an urgent quality to it; - says very little about Jesus's life. Begins right with his baptism. - all events of Jesus' preaching etc seem to happen very quickly - in one year. All the events in Jerusalem seem to take place in like one week. The gospel seems to address a broadly Jewish audience 2. Gospel of M ATTHEW : -self-consciously addressing a practicing Jewish audience (know this from the particular kind of language he uses) 3. Gospel of L UKE : - addresses gentile (non-Jewish) audience - different kinds of religious emphasis. For example, leaves out words + concepts that wouldn't have been familiar to non-Jews.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
