Warren Bales Assignment #2 Prof. Bunch March 3 rd , 2011 1a) Identify a double-barreled question. A double-barreled question is a question that is actually asking two things at once, and often does not leave room for a clear answer. In my opinion this is question #4 b) Explain why it is a double-barreled question. The question is asking where you keep your fruits –and- vegetables, which are often in two different places. Additionally, it does not provide a reasonable response for some, resulting in a confusing answer. c) How could you fix the problem? By asking what kind of produce you keep most often (fresh, frozen, canned, homegrown, organic, etc…) and allowing for a choice of multiple answers. This would determine what kinds of produce are being kept, and where, without asking a double-barreled question and limiting the ability for response. 2a) Identify a question that has response categories that are not mutually exclusive.
