How do you define management? 200-300 word rule Due Day 2 Management is a process that utilizes human and financial resources in order to achieve established goals. Bateman & Snell stated that management is “the process of working with people and resources to accomplish organizational goals” (Bateman & Snell, 2009, p.19). Managers are considered the first level of management in a company's organization. Managers do not do operative work; they often delegate to others in order to achieve their company’s goals. Management includes organizing, planning, leading, and controlling. Organizing is directed towards assigning the work among employees and making arrangements to ensure the work will be completed smoothly (Robbins, 2005). Planning is directed to set up goals and deciding in advance what actions should be taken in order to achieve those goals. Leading is directed to support and motivate employees to the point that their performance will be higher. Finally,
