Please pay particular attention to the exam location , and to the EXAM INSTRUCTIONS at the end, which are printed here only, and not on the actual exam. IF YOU DO NOT PUT YOUR VERSION NUMBER, WE WILL DEDUCT TWO (5) POINTS FROM YOUR EXAM GRADE. Please note that you DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE ANSWER PAGE, you put your ID there, and your name on the BACK. NOTE THAT UNLIKE THE TWO MID TERMS, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO KEEP YOUR EXAM BOOKLET. YOU MUST TURN IN THE ENTIRE BOOKLET BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE EXAM ROOM. IF YOU KEEP YOUR BOOKLET, YOUR EXAM WILL NOT BE GRADED. When is the exam? The FINAL exam will take place on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, at 6 PM . This is a 2-1/4 hour (TWO HOURS 15 MINUTES) exam , just as the mid terms were. It is not cumulative, including only Chapters 11, 12, 12A, 12B and 13. However, much of this material included concepts learned earlier in the course. Chapter 13 has material from just about EVERY chapter in the book that you’ve covered. So you cannot expect to see NOTHING from previous chapters. If one of the older chapters gave you some difficulty, please review it. Where are we taking the exam? The exam will take place in Morse Auditorium . Note that if you have been given permission by Prof Doherty to take the exam at an alternate time, you should by now have received your room assignment via email. As usual, please LEAVE ONE EMPTY SEAT BETWEEN YOU AND THE PERSON NEXT OVER FROM YOU. Can we have a sheet of notes at the exam again? Of course! You may bring with you to the exam one sheet of notes, 8-1/2 x 11, two-sided. Review your sheets from the mid terms, to see what you might do to make the one you bring to the final exam more useful. Can I use my own programmable calculator? You may use any calculator you wish EXCEPT YOUR CELL PHONE . We’ll have a few extras in case of AC222 1 pd 8/10/11 AC 222 FALL 2009 FI NAL EXAM STUDY

emergencies. Which chapters are on the exam? The exam covers Chapters 11, 12, 12A, 12B, and 13 in the Garrison, Noreen and Brewer text , as well as any concepts covered in class, and any problems assigned on the syllabus, or any articles assigned. The exam is only comprehensive in the sense that the chapters use earlier material. We won’t be selecting specific problems from the first 10 chapters. What are the length and format of the exam? It will as usual be two and one-quarter (2-1/4) hours long, and consist of 50 multiple-choice questions , evenly divided between calculations and conceptual questions . What do you suggest I study? Concentrate on the following as you study for the exam: Do not re-read the chapters unless you have not yet read them. Your book’s web site, which you may access without a password at www.mhhe.com/garrison12e , contains a variety of good review material. Past students have found the “flash cards” and “narrated Power Point slides” especially useful. You should by now have
