A company could inadvertently discriminate when firing employees by have to much of a personal relationship with an employee. In the lesson Ms. Frederickson says “I like you you’re like a little sister but I don’t want you working here anymore.” This phrase does not lead to the real cause of why the employee is being fired but rather stating, I don’t like you so I am letting you go and not giving just cause for termination. By appearing to have a personal relationship with an employee a company is opening itself up to possible law suites. Ms. Frederickson should have first attempted to retrain and then if the employees work was still unsatisfactory explained to the employee the problem and let her go. 2. Proper recruitment can really help an employer to choose the right employees for postings. First internal recruitment, where the employer posts the job and hires from within the company can really help to have the right fit when that
