Chapter 5 Management In Action BUS 137 Principles of Management 1903SU Frances Drew 1. Apple is very ahead of the game when it comes to strategic planning. They saw that there was a huge market for the IPhone and even though they knew that by doing it right that it would be a very slow process they were prepared to go with it. They know that by owning or controlling the primary technology that they will dominate the field. Apple does not simply want to make technology that everyone else has but wants to dominate the technology field. They make innovative products that no one else has or has heard of and there for control the market. From the IPod to the Mac and the IPhone they control the technology. 2. I believe that Apple uses the planning/control cycle, especially the control aspect of it. The company creates a buzz with its new products and by controlling what information is released about new products creates the necessary hype. Apple creates few products but they ones that they have created do well and rule the
