o How does e-mail benefit an organization? Why might an organization want to limit how an employee uses e-mail during work hours? What is an e-mail’s path once it leaves an organization? Businesses use e-mails to notify, inform, and advertise to their existing customers and to attract new ones, as well. Coupons, discounts, new product awareness, and to simply say “we are here, try us”, are just a sample of content in an organizations e-mails. It is a great idea to limit personal use of e-mails by employees so they are not abused. A loss of productivity and time could result from improper personal use. That is not what the employees are paid to do. Most e-mails today are sent through the internet; however, some businesses use their own internal system. o What is the effect of instant messaging on organizational networks?
