There are many tools that can be beneficial to the company, Dirt Bikes. More specifically, internet tools can provide a wide open door to the industry and the world. With internet access, upper management, middle management, and employees from within can research new and old product information and advancements, competitor standings, industry growth, and industry regulations. Furthermore, the World Wide Web can provide low cost or no cost advertisement with tools like social networking and a company Web site. There are great options in social networking including such sites as Facebook, Twitter, Ning, MySpace, Linkdin, and many others. Facebook is an extremely popular site bypassing all others and, according to mashable .com in a July 2010 article, has reached the plateau of 500 million users worldwide, with a possible mark of 1 billion users. With such a large number of users, this is a great way to advertise and it doesn’t cost a dime. A company Web site is another great option and is widely recommended, as you can profile Dirt Bikes’ business and its goals, products, and service. However, to build a proper Web site can be an expensive. According to allbusiness.com , a basic business Web site can cost anywhere from $1000 to $10,000 for a professional built site to as little as $50 for a do-it-yourself Web site. In addition to initial setup fees, there are also recurring fees such as monthly hosting charges, domain renewals, and if applicable, merchant account fees. Therefore, depending on the proposed budget for a company Web site, the possibilities are virtually endless. To better aid in internal business functions, the use of an intranet system, such as an Ethernet which is a local area network (LAN), is a great tool.
