1. List and explain three ways of reading that will work for you. I like to preview what I’m going to read because it helps me understand what I am about to read and its content, which allows me to find a connection with the material the instructor covers and with what I already know. Marking, or highlighting, works for me because by doing so, specific and important content become easier for referencing when studying. Finally, I like to review what I am reading. By going over the material, I can make sure I got the information I needed. 2. Why do these work for you? Previewing allows me to quickly read the material and go over the chapter titles and skim through the chapter to see if there is anything that I might know, possibly saving time. Marking allows me to map out the material, helping my focus and concentration on the material as I read. Reviewing allows me to check and make sure I did not miss anything and have all my notes and highlights in order. Some texts have chapter review questions and it is a good idea to take the time to
