By: Matt Clark ACIS 1504 8/15/11 ACIS 1504 Getting Started  The guitar has six strings. The strings notes are EADGBe, from top to bottom of the neck or thickest to thinnest string. The fret board is divided by metal bars called frets. These frets separate the different notes along the strings. The higher you go up the fret board the higher the pitch. The fret board usually has some kind of indicator as to the number. Whether it be dots or an inlay.
