OverviewThe book "Leading with Cultural Intelligence: The Real Secret to Success"is written by the famous author David Livermore who initiated the idea of writing theme book application. The book defined the importance of adopting to intercultural communication that exists in the growth of intercultural intelligence. A common misconception is that leadership skills can be universal and fluidly can be used irrespective of the location. In actuality, leadership skills are very useful for the culture in which a person belongs to, but skills should be adjusted in order to be effective, whenever applied to a multicultural or intercultural situation. An instinctual feeling of leadership in one’s field is the valuable leadership assets; however, they are not adequate to leverage the global potential. Cultural awareness is essential for efficiency of leadership skills. Cultural knowledge and cultural intelligence are two different things. Cultural knowledge is all about being aware of cultural similarities and the differences, and about being able to navigate through some sort of an intercultural situation. On the other hand, cultural intelligence provides leaders a practical skill set so they can meet the demands of leadership in the current scenario. This ability can be developed overtime. A leader can build to grow, apply new tactics and information to leadership skill set. A leader commits to the process, and they must commit to encouragement of people who follow them to be culturally prepared leaders.
