Internships An Internship is usually a one term work assignment usually in the summer They can be part time or full time Also the can be paid or unpaid Internships do not cost anything to the student They usually last between 13 and 15 weeks How Does Career Services help you find internships? They have a website with all the majors listed where you can search your major and it comes up with companies that are offering internships Every February Virginia Tech hosts an internship job fair for all Virginia Tech students Also Career Services provides online resources for internships that lists all the internship websites Career Services has internship/co-op advisors for every college at Tech as well as every major. Virginia Tech Career Services also provides un-paid internships in their offices during the spring summer and fall. Students can also use Hokie4Hire to apply for internships In some circumstances you can get academic credit for doing an internship You must maintain a 2.0 GPA to be eligible for an internship at VT
