Morgan Hampel Keep Your Friends Closer and Your Billy’s Closer I believe in keeping the people in your life close to you at all times. The saying “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer” is a great saying to keep in mind while going through day to day things. It was the summer before third grade. My neighbors had just moved to Wisconsin and I was extremely anxious to meet the people who would eventually move in. Well, that magical day came about two months later. After a couple days after the new family had moved in, my mom and I went over to introduce ourselves. “Hi, I’m Marci and this is my son Morgan, we’re your neighbors from across the street,” explained my mother. “Oh, it’s great to meet you! I’m Pamela Wertberger, my husband John is at work right now and this is our son Billy! He’ll be going into the third grade this fall.” From that moment on, our parents we’re insistent on Billy and I becoming friends since we were the same age. A couple times a week Billy and I would have what my mom called, “play dates.” At these
