Find the slope and the y intercept F(x)= -6-3 The function is in the slope-intercept form, f(x)=mx=b Now you can simply read the slope from the function because the coefficient of the x term, m, is the slope of the line The slope is -6 In the slope intercept form, f(x)=mx+b, the y intercept is (0,b). In other words you can read the value of b from the function because b is the constant term. The y intercept is (0,-3) Find the slope and the y intercept F(x)=-3x-4 The slope is -3 The y intercept is (0,-4) Find the slope and the y intercept of the line. Write the fractional answer in lowest terms. Y= -8/3(x)-6/5 The slope is – 8/3 The y intercept is – 6/5 Find the slope and the y intercept of the line 9x=4y+28 First, solve for y to write the equation in the slope intercept form y=mx+b . Then the slope is the coefficient of x 9x=4y+28 9x-28=4y 4y=9x-28 Y= 9/4(x)-7 The slope is 9/4 The y intercept is (0,-7) Find the slope and the y intercept of the line 2x=7y+14 2x-14=7y 7y=2x-14 Y=2/7(x)-2 The slope is 2/7 The y intercept is (0,-2) Find the slope and the y intercept

5- 1/2 y=9x -1/2y=9x-5 Y= -18+10 The slope is -18 The y intercept is 10 Find the slope and the y intercept of the line. Write fractional answers in the lowest term s 9y+6x+9=17+6x ( y=mx+b ) 9y=17+6x-6x-9 9y=8 The slope is 0 The y intercept is 8/9 Find the slope of the line Slope= First identify the coordinates of the y intercept for the line. Look at the graph to see where the line intersects the y axis. The coordinates of the y intercept are (0,7) Find the value of the slope. Let (0,7) be the first point and (1,-2) be the second point. To calculate the value of the slope, use the coordinate formula for the slope M= -2-7/1-0= -9 The slope of this line is -9 Find the slope of the line Slope= The coordinates of the y intercept are (0,6) The second point is (5,-7)
