WEEK 1 2 Week 1 Questions Question 1: What information about scholarly writing did you find most relevant for improving your writing skills? I found that tone in in one’s writing is key and should always be given serious considera- tion. The tone in which one writes can serve to properly set the theme of a paper or create con- fusion as to the author’s intent. Also, paraphrasing is an effective tool for a writer. Paraphrasing not only helps the au- thor convey a cited quote more efficiently, but it also allows for the paper to flow more naturally. Questions 2: Which of the APA guidelines were new to you? The detailing and differences of the references sheet was something entirely new to me. I was not aware of the different forms of referencing techniques and the various resources that can be used to properly cite and produce reference. As most APA novices, I was under the in-
