Cheeseburger Book Report The ability to create long lasting and far reaching lessons goes well beyond the use of standard classroom techniques. An educator must be able to inspire creativity within one’s stu- dents in order to help them reach their fullest potential. Each day children are asked to think out- side the box by their educator’s and in turn, instructors must be willing to do the same. Douglas B. Reeves feels very strongly that engaging students is key to the success of any lesson as he states in his book “Making Standards Work” (Reeves 2001). Mr. Reeves feels that engaging a student in a lesson allows them to play a role in the lesson, reinforce prior learning, incorporate artistic faculties, and improve overall student comprehension (Reeves 2001).
