PreAp Geometry Postulates My Note: A postulate is a belief or idea about something. Postulate 1- (Infinitely long ruler postulate)- There exists a one to one correspondence between  the points of a line and the real numbers.  Postulate 1A- A line can be extended as far as desired in either direction. Postulate 2- There exists one and only one line through any two distinct points. Postulate 3- There exists a number which represents the measure of a line segment. Postulate 4- There exists some number from 0 to 180 inclusive that represents the measure of an  angle. Postulate 5- The Addition Postulate If a = b And c = d Then a + c = b + d Postulate 6- The Subtraction Postulate If a = b And c = d Then  a – c = b – d Postulate 7- The Multiplication Postulate If a = b And  c = d Then a * c = b * d Postulate 8- The Division Postulate If a = b And
