Unformatted text preview: Paper Topic #3 Paper Topic #3 is a full-length essay that gives you the opportunity to show how your ideas have developed in relation to a particular topic that we have analyzed in lecture and/or section. Like Paper Topics #1 and #2, this paper demands that you establish a thesis that provides a framework for an argument . You need to develop your thesis and your argument in response to one of the questions below. Choose one of the essay prompts from the list below. Your paper must engage the specific topic focused on by the question that you have chosen. You do not, however, have to write on the work mentioned in the essay prompt. You are asked to give your paper a title. NB: You must not write on Elizabeth Gaskells Cranford , Mary Seacoles Wonderful Adventures or Alfred Tennysons In Memoriam in Paper Topic #3. You are welcome to write on one of the following: Florence Nightingale, Cassandra ; Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest ; three or four poems from The Penguin Book of First World War Poetry ; two stories from The Penguin Book of First World War Stories that we have covered in lecture; Jean Rhys, Voyage in the Dark ; or Sam Selvon, The Lonely Londoners .
