Baptism, What Does it Mean in Christianity? Page 2 There are many different types of baptisms and the meanings behind baptism in the Christian religion. The different denominations have associated different meanings and requirements with this ritual. Some denominations baptize infants shortly after birth while others believe that baptism of the Holy Spirit is a requirement from God in order to be saved. These different baptism rituals all play an integral part of each denomination and their religious beliefs and each have different meanings to each. To some it simply means that the person has accepted Jesus as their savior and is baptized to show their new life that will be spent following His word while to others it means salvation. These different beliefs have come about from different religious scholars interpretations of the Bible. I have personally chosen topic because baptism and the requirements for salvations are
