Dane Loflin, B.S., M.B.A. Phone: (C) 803-367-1128 Email: dloflin@gardner-webb.edu Text Required : Strategic Management and Business Policy – Wheelen / Hunger Course Description: This course will help students understand the “big picture” of a business’s operations. It will help you as an individual examine a business as a whole and to understand the various functional disciplines within a business including becoming aware of the importance of strategic management, the nature of policies, and the differences in management that account for the success and/or failure of a business. Also in this course you will have the opportunities to practice managerial analysis, determine problems, and learn how to execute a strategic management process through practice cases. Course Objectives: To help students think strategically about how an organization operates Be able to conduct and write a strategic audit To help develop skills in analyzing complex business situations Improve analytical ability To develop your ability to apply knowledge gained in previous courses to strategic analysis Understand the importance of making business decision in an ethical manner Grading Scale:
