LEB Assignment #6 Lehman Brothers There has never been a better time to act ethically, and there has never been a worse time to act unethically. These words continuously ring in my head reminding me of the Enron Scandal. The Lehman Brothers faced a similar problem and their decision resulted in great financial trouble such as that of Enron. The Ethics Chapters in Business Law helps us identify if certain decision-making situations are ethical. The first thing to ask is, “is this legal?” We combine terms of legality and ethics because ethics shape our laws making it easier for social groups to coexist. In News Hub on the Wall Street Journal website, it is reported that the Lehman Brothers’ executives asked themselves if other companies were doing this (this being Repo 105, where $50 million were taken off the balance sheet temporarily). The answer was no and though they continued with this, one employee, Mr. Lee notified auditors immediately. The decision made by Mr. Lee was to object to and report the particular financial
