Activity W7(3): Create BPMN diagram for Jetstar Check in process (2 marks) Jetstart is known for its efficient and cost effective business operations. This is in large parts due to the design of streamlined, Information Systems ­enabled business processes, some of which are highly automated. In this activity please analyse the process of customer flight check ­in via the Jetstar web ­site. See the following demo: http://japps.jetstar.com/webcheckin/index.php Your task: please use the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) to attempt a process diagram for the customer flight check ­in process. Specifically, follow these steps: • Every process starts with a Start Event and ends with one or more End Events. • Identify all activities and put them in a sequential order. • Identify any gateways (Decisions and Parallels) and add them to the model. • Identify message/data flows. • Please visualise the data flow to and from the Jetstar database(s) (see page 175 (figure 7 ­11) as an example).
