PLANNINGLesson summary and focus:Students will sing along with the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom story by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault with a YouTube video Dan P. Lyons. Then the students will “dig” for a variety of letters in sand (flour) and match them to their corresponding key sheet. Classroom and student factors:There are 12 students in the classroom. one student with autism, two students with Down syndrome, and four students with speech and language delays. The other students are functioning within a typically developing range. 5 students have not had prior preschool experience. 3 students are ELLS and 7 students have an IEP/ IFSP.National / StateLearning Standards:Standard 7: Acquire concepts of print. LA.KE.u- Recognize and name 10 upper- and lower-case letters. Standard 8: Acquire emergent literacy skills while exploring print in books and the environment.
