2 Jesus and Mohammad are believed to be the first leaders of the Christian and Islam religions, Jesus of Christianity and Mohammad of Islam. While Jesus is believed to be of divine conception; Mohammad is known to be a human, but a great messenger of Allah (God). While this is a big difference between the men, there are several more differences. However, they both believed the message from God (Allah) was one of peace, harmony, and love. Jesus was born and lived at least five hundred years before Mohammad was born. Jesus is believed to have been a few years before 1 CE. Mohammad was born in the year 570 CE. There is nothing discussed about these two men’s childhoods. However, when Jesus was 12 years old it is told the rabbis of the temple in Jerusalem and everyone who heard Jesus talk with the rabbis could not believe that a child had sure an understanding of the Torah. Now when Mohammad was a teenager it is told that is when it was proclaimed that he was a prophet by a Syrian Christian monk. Nothing more is said about Jesus until he is 30 years old and about Mohammad until he is 25 years old. It was at 30 years of age that Jesus was baptized by John. After his baptizism Jesus went into the wilderness for forty days to fast. It was during this fasting that the devil cam to Jesus to tempt him to use his divine powers. It was after his fasting and temptations that Jesus began to gather his disciples. We have all heard of the twelve disciples of men; however he also had disciples or followers who were women. Even though it is believed that Jesus was not married, even though it went against tradition for Jewish men of that age were married by the age 30. Mohammad was 25 years old when he married the woman he worked for, who was 15 years his senior. She understood Mohammad’s commitment to God (Allah). It was with this understanding that Mohammad
