HIS/135: McCarthyism McCarthyism affected the lives and the political thinking of people in the U.S. by falsely accusing some people of being communist, and not just only regular everyday people, but people that had positions in inside of the U.S. government. Being that Senator Joseph R. McCarthy was a less than average Republican senator, he needed something to help his political career, so taking control of the already in place mass hysteria of anticommunism , he was able to take it to the next level. In the regular lives of people, McCarthyism created a distrusting atmosphere that cause people to not trust

Being that most Democrats did have liberal views, the public turned its political views toward the conservative Republicans in fears that if they support a Democrat they can be supporting communism or fear people will seen them as a communist themselves. At the time McCarthyism was bad for the 1950. In the effort to rebuild the countrys economy and safety the best way to disrupt this will be to create an atmosphere of distrust, and that is what happen during this time....
