HIS135wk7: Reagan’s Economics Reagan’s economic policies reflected a lot of the policies of the conservative that came before him. First he wanted to cut as many federal agencies in the area of civil rights, environmental and consumer protection, poverty programs, the arts, and education to return the government to the size and responsibility it possessed in the 1950s, before the reform of Kennedy and Johnson. The conservative thought process of Reagan showed the pattern of the old conservative that was in the government

Other than repeating history, Reagan did manage to lower inflation, build a stronger military, and lower taxes. This course of action caused the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer. During Reagan time in office he did manage to create 14.5 millions job for Americans which helped a lot of people, but jobs for the poor was largely restricted....
