2 Maintaining and Optimizing Windows Vista Operations Lab and Study Guide Today’s modern computer must be maintained in order to operate at peak efficiency. There are several things a user can do to keep their Windows Vista Operating system up to date and performing just as well as it did the first day the system was booted. In this study guide we will look at a few of the key tasks that must be done in order to achieve a satisfactory user experience. The combination of protection and maintenance strategies discussed here will enlighten the user to the needed routines for trouble free operation of their workstation. The first area we will cover is proper maintenance of the Operating system. This is the most important thing that the user will do for their computer. Just like with your vehicle, proper maintenance of your PC is paramount to trouble free operation. The main thing to look for when thinking about O/S maintenance would be the Windows update settings. Microsoft frequently puts out security fixes and updates to the Windows operating systems it still supports. Within Windows is an interface
