LaValley Boston University "Intent-to-treat Analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials" the class example (also on handout) was the Randomized, multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of clofibrate for treatment for coronary heart disease 1103 men on clofibrate; 2789 men on placebo. a. carry out an intent-to-treat (ITT) analysis. Provide an interval estimate of the effect (ITT) of clofibrate in either the odds or proportion/probability metric. Interpret. b. repeat part 1 for subjects identified as compliant and for subjects identified as non-compliant. c. Construct an IV estimator for effect of clofibrate following the methods in Angrist, Imbens and Rubin presented in lecture. Interpret via the results shown in lecture , such as CACE. d.
