Bipolar 10-27-10 Bipolar is also called “Manic Depression”-unusual brain disorder that cause extreme changes in the mood, energy and the ability to carry out everyday task. Symptoms are very severe. They are different from the normal up and down s other people go thru from time to time. Can damage relationships , get you fired(the inability to work) Commit suicide Develop while the person is in teens to early adult years, may show signs during childhood stage (not easy detected) Symptoms may look like a separation problem than the actual disorder, so people might suffer and not get treated Different emotional changes that occurs in different periods of time; This are called Mood Episodes Manic if you are joyful, cheerful, energetic Depressive: hopeless, pessimist With Mood episodes you can have both moods and at that point it is called: Mixed State Extremely, violate, irritable, explosive during these episodes Several manic or depressive symptoms during most the day or every day for 1-2 weeks
