Ø This process of sales management in real estate firms is important  because: Ø Primary goal : It ensures that vacant positions are filled, and it ensures that those  who assume the positions have the right skills, experience, and personal  characteristics that would make them successful on the job. Ø Matching…what skills are needed for job, and recruit people that have those  characteristics Ø Secondary goals : Effective recruiting and selection leads to high levels of job  performance, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and lower levels of  absenteeism (person who is absent or not really working, doing own thing),  presenteeism (even if there, not doing job), and turnover (bad; want people to feel  committed to organization -> need to do a good job of recruiting to begin with). Ø If recruit right people with skills, training, and experience, they are likely to work at  higher level and bring in more money Why Is Recruiting and Selection
