Feelings are important and should be acknowledged. However, do not react to whatever is triggered. Instead, make a purposeful decision about how to respond. A relationship must have trust and respect to in order to survive. Trust can be present when each person feels safe to be honest, open and genuine. Respect helps build this through not judging or criticizing the other's opinions, feelings and beliefs. A relationship is not always peaces and roses, sometimes after all the struggles and fights each person appreciates his or her spouse and accepts their faults and lives for joy of the relationship....
