"By making strong mentoring relationships anintegral part of your corporate culture, every participant can benefit, which will only strengthenyour department or company." (Half, 2017).Formal or InformalAlthough formal and informal mentoring programs are similar, they have different styles,and both are beneficial.Formal mentoring is more structured and has more definite and specificgoals, whereas informal mentoring has no structure or goals.Even though informal mentoringdoes not have specific goals, it can still provide personal guidance to mentees.Either way, amentoring program should have well-defined goals, and it should be available to all employees.Mentoring programs can be customized based on the organization goals.Combining both styleswill allow Amazon to take full advantage of the benefits.Both styles are great sources foremployee growth.They will increase employee engagement and retention, productivity,company culture, and will be used in the mentorship program.
