College of Engineering Mechanical Engineering Department Ventura, Raissa LBYME16 EE1 I. Title of Experiment: Experiment Number 5: Calibration of Flowmeters II. Analysis and Conclusion: The experiment allowed the group to determine the shape of the flow to be in a parabola. Given the apparatus, the x and y components of the flow were measured. The experiment also took note of the time to fill up 5 cm of the given container. Through the data taken down, the group noticed that as the pressure head decreases, so does the velocity, flow and trajectory in the orifice while the coefficient of discharge increases together with the pressure head. The corresponding results noted at the weir or barrier of the apparatus are as follows: the flow is in a directly proportional relationship with the pressure head and inversely proportional to the coefficient of discharge. The experiment aimed to calibrate the flow meters and compare the values of the coefficient of drag taken from the experiment and pre-established values. III. Data and Calculation:
