De La Salle University College of Engineering Mechanical Engineering Department Ventura, Raissa   LBYME16 EE1 I. Title of Experiment: Experiment Number 8: Bare and Lagged Pipe Apparatus II. Analysis and Conclusion: Different types of insulation were used on different pipes for the experiment. The  insulation are the following; foam insulation, aluminum paint, black paint and 85% Magnesia.  The objective is to be able to determine the combined radiation and convection coefficient at  different temperatures from each of the different insulated surfaces, determine the insulation  efficiencies of each and to experimentally compare the measured values of enthalpy versus  calculated values. All pipes received heat from the same source for 30 minutes. Every 5  minutes, the temperature at three different points of the pipes were taken. The steam pressure  and temperature, room temperature and barometric pressure were also taken at this interval.  Condensate from each of the pipes are also measured at the 5 minute intervals.  III. Data and Calculation:    Time 5 10 15 20 25 30 Pipe               1   38 38 38 38.5 38 38 2   120 117 116 118 118 120 3   109 108 109 108 108 108
