Priority #3: CALS One-Time Allocation request Department of Biology One-Time ETF Request for 09-10 BIO 212 and BIO 421/426 Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab Equipment: $60,656.98 The physiology equipment will be used in both our BIO 212 Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology and BIO 412/426 Advanced Human Anatomy and Physiology laboratories to provide students with hands-on training and experience with modern physiology that reinforces and provides examples of the concepts they are learning in lecture. The equipment is listed below. This equipment is essential to provide a modern laboratory experience in physiology. Approximately 25% of the request is to upgrade the current experience to a more modern experimental approach (e.g., use of genomic microarrays) and 75% is to expand enrollment to meet demand. We currently must share equipment between BIO 212 and BIO 426 and that currently is the limiting factor in enrollment in both courses. Vendor
