Abhinay Madadi Brian Peterson The axial age draft The pursuit of happiness in modern ages has been a fruitless hunt and an amassing of material possessions. Media focuses and associates happiness with wealth and steers farther and farther from a sense of holistic wellness. Buddha’s teachings however are important reminders that while external factors of one’s microcosm affect ones level of happiness the true path to enlightenment is through discovery of self. This process of enlightenment was expected to lift the souls of many nations throughout the world. Siddhartha Gautama was quite a remarkable individual, he was raised in sheltering, yet was able to have the ability to realize that learning was the most important thing at the point of his leave. He traveled to holy men throughout northern India. He then learned the process of meditation combined with key principles to achieve an enlightenment process. From this course of action, it enables him to forget his own idea of self, hence, achieving Nirvana. Which in case means in order to discover ones
