Although by Citigroup separating investment banking from stock research will not bar Citigroup from the charges they face in regards to the past happenings on Wall Street, the regulators are only one part of the pain Citigroups reputation has exacted over the past few years, the other being the bad reputation brought on by the investors on the company. Part of the way Citigroup is trying to reform their reputation is by bringing in an individual to head up those reforms.
