Studying the following topics will assist in preparing for the exam: 1) Define the term “operations management.” Is the business function that plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls the resources needed to produce a company’s goods & services. Is a management function. It involves managing people, equipment, technology, information and many other resources. 2) List four types of focus dimensions used in operations management. Cost, Quality, Speed, and Support. Speed is not only speed of delivery, but also reacting quickly to demand changes and design changes to meet changing customers needs. 3)
