Week 2 DQ 1 ART 101 Yolanda Campos The Calder sculptures does not compare to the public art here in San Antonio, TX. San Antonio, TX has a park called Brackenridge Park which has sculptures of different artist. Unlike the Calder sculptures, which sculptures were placed everywhere around the park even inside, were the visitors can enjoy by one artist. Brackenridge Park only has four sculptures from different artist and the visitors only can view them when they enter the park and leave the park, not like Calder sculptures were the visitors can walk explore each one of them.

Unformatted text preview: I think art in public spaces contributes to building community and a sense of culture can have the artist’s work be admired all around the world, have visitors explore and encourage others to learn about art and the artist. The community will have the experience of what the artist is trying to say or the meaning of the art work. Visitors can have somewhere to go and take their children or family. It is important to have our kids learn about art and how it comes in different form, what the artist is seeing or feeling....
