Week 2 DQ 1 SCI241 Yolanda Campos Diarrhea and constipation are two digestive problems that can be remedied or relieved. Diarrhea happens when the intestine do not get enough water which leads to watery stool. Constipation is when stools are hard to pass through. Diarrhea is caused by bacteria, vital infection, medication, and some food intake. Complication that may occur with diarrhea is dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. To remedied or relieved by medication that can treat the infection, fluid and electrolyte replacement. Constipation is caused by low fiber, low fluid, high fiber with low fluid intake, and weak intestines muscles. Complication that may occur with constipation is discomfort, diverticula, and intestine blockage. Constipation can be remedied or relieved by high fluid diet, high fiber intake, exercise, and medication. Home remedied can be helpful if digestive problem is not serve

For diarrhea home remedies are to drink lots of fluid and antidiarrheal medication if diarrhea lasted for six hours. But a physician can help give medication to fight the infection due to the cause of diarrhea. Home remedies for constipation is drinking lots of fluids, exercise, stool softener, and laxative but a physician can figure out the right treatment. As for myself I would try to do home remedies first unless it becomes worst, hurts or seeing blood in the stool. My healthy and children healthy come first, to be on the safe side I would make an appointment to get a physician idea than my own. Home remedies may work for others but may not work for all.
