QUALITY ASSURANCE LEVEL III DOCUMENTATION Page 3 of 7 PROCEDURE FOR ULTRASONIC CORROSION DETECTION AND ASSESSMENT NDT-OPR-029/1:0 This document contains proprietary information and must not be copied or otherwise used without the written permission of Oceaneering 1.0 INTRODUCTION This Procedure details the methods to be followed by OCEANEERING Inspection personnel for the ultrasonic corrosion detection and assessment of low to medium carbon steel, parallel walled, components between 3 and 25mm nominal thickness. 2.0 REFERENCES BS EN 27963: 1992 BS EN 12223: 2000 BS EN 1714: 1998 / BS 3923: Part 1: 1986 ASME Section V Article 5 3.0 DEFINITIONS ASME American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASNT American Society of Non-Destructive Testing PCN Personnel Certification of Non Destructive Testing PRF Pulse Repetition Frequency 4.0 QUALIFICATION OF PERSONNEL All personnel carrying out Ultrasonic Examination in accordance with this procedure shall be approved in the technique to: a) American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (SNT-TC-1A) b) Personnel Certification of Non Destructive Testing (PCN) Unless they are undertaking on-the-job training, working in an assistant capacity under the direct supervision of a certificated person. Utilisation of other approval schemes shall be subject to agreement between contracting parties and defined within the specific NDT Instruction/ Technique/ Procedure Sheets.
