3 Kinematics (5-3) How can we describe this motion? Let’s allow the particle to move during which it both translates, rotates and deforms. Our task is to pull out the rotation only where below is some arbitrary value. Are these positive or negative rotations? Our only recourse is to average the rotations 5 Kinematics (5-3) Once we have defined a way to measure rotation, we can calculate the deformation of the angles by simply subtracting the particle rotation we just defined from the actual rotation. 6
