Chapter 8 Key Terms Yaunek Murray Period 1 Learning- a change in an organism’s behavior due to experience. Associative learning- learning that certain events occur close together. Classical conditioning (Pavlovian conditioning)- classically phenomenal experiments about learning done by Ivan Pavlov. Behaviorism- the view that psychology should be an objective science. Unconditioned Response (UCR)- the unlearned response to UCS. Unconditioned Stimulus (UCS)- a stimulus the naturally and automatically triggers a response. Conditioned Response (CR)- the learned response to a previously neutral CS. Conditioned Stimulus (CS)- an originally irrelevant stimulus that, after association with a UCS, comes to trigger a conditioned response. Acquisition- the initial learning of the stimulus-response relationship. Extinction- the diminishing of a conditioned response. Spontaneous recovery- the reappearance, after a rest period, of an extinguished
