Evolutionary psychology maximizes fitness -when certain traits are selected- by conferring a reproductive advantage upon them- those traits over time, come to prevail. Natural Selection -Bacteria that resist a hospital’s antibiotics will rapidly multiply, as other weaker bacteria die off. -Natural selection in many cases, explain our human tendencies. -The genes we receive from our ancestors help us to learn and adapt to life. -Human behavioral similarities arise from our biological similarity. -although human differences grab our attention, our deep similarities also demand explanation. -we are genetically predisposed to behave in ways that promoted our ancestors’ surviving and reproducing. -evolution has been an organized principal for biology for a long time. -Psychologists now use more evolutionary psychology to help answer many questions now. Sexuality -It is clear that males overall desire sex more than females. -casual hit and run sex is most frequent among men with traditional masculine attitudes.
