Scott Pantoskey 4805420 1/19/11 Environmental Science 2: Homework 1 1) Country A has a stable age-gender population with normal birth and mortality rates. Also, country A has a decent life expectancy rate and the biggest portion of individuals residing in the middle age category. Country B has an abnormally large birth rate although as the age of individuals increases the number of individuals gets in each age category decreases. Thus supporting the idea that this country has a short life expectancy rate. Country C, like country A, has a normal birth and mortality rate and the biggest percentage of people reside in the middle age category (20-49), which could possibly be the result of a baby boom. Also, more women than men live past 80 years of age maybe due to less stressful lifestyles or sufficient exercise and proper nutrition. Country D has a little higher birth rate than average and like Country A but not as extreme, country D has a short life expectancy.
