Laminar flows and turbulent flows are both types of stream flows that have very different characteristics. A turbulent flow is a flow in which the velocity and pressure at any point varies erratically, creating eddies and flows with patterns that are unable to be categorized. A laminar flow on the other hand is a flow in which a fluid behaves as a system of orderly layers, with no eddies or irregular fluctuations and flows smoothly with interrupting accord. Turbulent flows are often more prevalent in causing fluvial erosion because the nature of the flow often wiggles and jars loose with its erratic behavior any object that may be within the rivers reach. Turbulent flows allows for easier dissolving into the solution load , the upward motion that creates the suspended load , and the force that produces for traction or saltation of the
